1. WHAT WE DO

Our wish is to create the most original turnkey itineraries for you, so that you can discover Europe as you have never seen it before!

The itineraries we design aim to immerse you fully in the culture and the beauty of the landscapes of the region you visit. We also make it a point to find you small and quiet roads and nice accommodations. All our tours include a detailed roadbook written by us, where you will find technical details about the route, suggestions for visits, explanations on the places you will pass through, restaurant options and even interesting anecdotes on the local area!

Our services also include booking accommodation with breakfast, transporting your luggage, renting fully equipped bicycles on site, providing assistance in case of mechanical problems, and giving you sound advice on how to make your dream trip come true!

Our offer is aimed at all types of cycling travellers: from novices to the most experienced, from dolce vita enthusiasts to the most sporty, from aficionados of cultural visits to nature lovers… whatever your profile, we most probably have an offer that will suit you! Our itineraries have sporty variants that will delight the most enthusiastic, or conversely, an electric bike option for those for whom holidays do not have to rhyme with effort.

2. THE TEAM

Between 2008 and 2014, he was a volunteer in Passeport ASBL, an association aiming to let teenagers experience life in nature and in a community, by organising thematic weekends and sports expeditions. He graduated in 2014 in tourism management and has since travelled the world, first for pleasure, before launching a first company in 2016 where he creates adventure tours around the world on behalf of French tour operators. At the same time, in 2017, he founded Ave Mundum with a friend, a start-up specialising in helping people make long-distance trips around the world. The environmental crisis motivates him to start developing local and bike tours.

In 2018, after having already organised many cycling trips for his association, he embarked on a great adventure of 3000 km across Europe, which will take him, 11 countries later, to Montenegro.

His wildest dream? To resume his great adventure from where he left off in 2018, in Montenegro. From there, to Jerusalem, Egypt, and who knows… to the Cape of Good Hope? He has high hopes!

In Cyclodyssées, he is in charge of the creation of tours and the daily management.

Antoine studied engineering and economics. After having worked as a consultant in the energy sector for a few years, he decided to change hats and embark on a round-the-world cycling trip in 2016. He left for a year and a half! After having crossed Eastern Europe, faced the desert expanses of the Middle East and climbed through the immense spaces of Central Asia, it is first of all in Tokyo that he arrives 1 year after his departure from Belgium. He then continued his cycling odyssey on the other side of the Pacific, from Mexico to Panama.

Since his return, his annual week-long cycling holiday with his fiancée has been an eagerly awaited getaway.  He is currently completing a PhD in public economics at the Université Saint-Louis in Brussels.

His next big project? Cycling around the Mediterranean!

He is involved in creating tours during his holidays and is trying to build a nice website for Cyclodyssées.

natacha cyclodyssees

Natacha is a travel photographer and a great lover of bicycle travel (and incidentally, also the little sister of her two crazy older brothers)

In 2019, she leaves Belgium for a great adventure on two wheels that will take her to Myanmar. A journey that will have taken her all over Europe and the Middle East! Only a certain virus called Covid could stop her in her tracks. But it’s only a postponement…

Back in Belgium, she started a master in photojournalism and works in parallel as a freelance photographer and videographer.

Within Cyclodyssées, she is in charge of the production of videos for the launch of new tours. She sometimes accompanies her brothers during the creation of tours with her van and her photography equipment.

3. THE STORY OF CYCLODYSSEES

You know the story of the two redheads who started travelling on two wheels?

Well, that’s us!

Cyclodyssées was born from the desire of two brothers to share the pleasure of travelling by bike with as many people as possible, while at the same time having the desire to offer an ecological alternative to classic tourism. Having matured for several years, it is in 2021 that the project becomes a reality. In the spring, the first tours were created and various partnerships with local tourism actors were formed. The beginning of a great odyssey? You tell us!

4. OUR COMMITMENTS

OUR COMMITMENTS TOWARDS OUR PLANET

Although travelling by bicycle is an environmentally friendly way to travel, there are indirect environmental costs that should not be overlooked. Most of the environmental impact of a cycling trip is caused by the travel to the location and the logistics surrounding the tour. We offer our clients the possibility to avoid this impact as much as possible.

Round trip

Many of us have the reflex to fly to other parts of Europe.  Given that the aviation industry remains one of the most polluting, we want to highlight attractive alternatives in terms of environmental impact, but also in terms of travel philosophy

First of all, we want to put an end to the idea that, in order to change air, one must necessarily get into the air! Thus, all our tours are easily accessible by train, and even for the most distant destinations (Portugal, Andalusia,…) a night train allows to reach the starting point in less than 24 hours from Paris or London. For geographical, budgetary, time or other reasons, the train option is of course not possible for everyone. Nevertheless, we will be happy to provide all the necessary information so that those who wish to do so can reach the start of a tour by train.

By promoting more sustainable means of transport, we would also like to promote slow tourism, that way of travelling that invites you to take time rather than to visit, to “live” rather than to “see”. If travelling by bike is a kind of incarnation of this way of travelling, the journey to the destination is often the soft underbelly of this approach. Travelling by train rather than by plane for example, beyond the ecological gain, allows us to immerse ourselves more in the landscapes, to appreciate their slow evolution, and to realise how far we have come! As for sleeper trains, they are often a source of great encounters and exchanges!

luggage Logistics

When a cycling tour is organised by an agency, the transport of luggage from one accommodation to another is usually included in the package, and let’s face it, this is a real added value for many cyclists, because in addition to the comfort that the traveller gains, he or she does not have to worry about having to leave his or her bags unattended for some time.

This task is usually outsourced to transport companies that travel long distances with their vehicles to take care of your luggage. While this is sometimes necessary, we would like to offer travellers the option of carrying their belongings in bicycle side bags. Although this limits the amount of luggage that can be carried and makes the bike a little heavier, having a bed waiting for you every night allows you to travel really light, with clothes being the main part of your belongings. We ourselves have become adept of this solution, so if you want to take a chance, we’ll be happy to share our tips for optimising your luggage!

OUR COMMITMENTS TOWARDS OUR CLIENTS

In order to guarantee a truly relaxing and stress-free holiday, we make sure that the tours are well thought out in every respect. With our many years of experience in bicycle travel, we design all our routes ourselves. Once we’ve scouted the area, we choose reliable partners and put together a roadbook that is as good as it gets!

well-crafted tours

To ensure consistency in the quality of our tours, we create all the itineraries ourselves

Our main concern is to give you the opportunity to explore a region in all its finesse and variety, allowing you to discover its cultural highlights, its most beautiful landscapes, its unique gastronomy, its architectural jewels or its local customs.

From a more technical point of view, our priority is to make you travel on small and quiet country roads, while trying to limit the difference in altitude. In the more hilly regions, however, hills are inevitable, but our electric bikes now allow everyone to venture out on these types of routes without a fuss.

attractive prices

Thanks to our knowledge of the terrain and languages, we can generally manage the logistics of our different tours by being in direct contact with our different local partners, which avoids having to resort to intermediaries and the intermediation fees that go with them! You are therefore guaranteed to travel at the best possible prices!

Quality service

Our credo is to offer you a few itineraries that we know well, rather than a catalogue of tours that we ourselves would end up confusing with each other. The fact that all our itineraries are “home-made” means that we know them inside out, and can be very flexible to your needs, both before and during your trip.
